Jove Solar Project

The Jove Solar Project is a 600-megawatt solar farm approved by the US Bureau of Land Management (BLM) in La Paz County, Arizona. Located on approximately 3,495 acres of public land about 30 miles west of Tonopah, this project represents one of the largest solar energy developments in the United States. The installation may also include a battery energy storage system, further enhancing its capabilities and impact on the region’s energy infrastructure.

Features: The project will connect to the 500-kV Cielo Azul switching station and Ten West Link transmission line, integrating seamlessly with existing power infrastructure. The BLM’s approved construction plan preserves local wildlife habitats by avoiding building in desert washes, maintaining ecological connectivity while maximizing energy production potential.

Impact: Once operational, expected in 2027, the Jove Solar Project will have the capacity to power approximately 180,000 homes annually. This development significantly contributes to the nation’s clean energy goals, moving towards a carbon pollution-free power sector while creating jobs and enhancing energy security in the Southwest.
